2. You may have been told by your doctor that you have a medical condition (Diabetes, Multiple Sclerosis, arthritis, Lupus, Fibromyalgia or Chronic Fatigue Syndrome) that would improve with exercise.

3. You’ve been a Human Performance Center client and are feeling better, but you’d like to continue to improve your health and fitness under our staff’s direction.

• You’ll learn the correct way to exercise in a safe, medically supervised program.

• You’ll gain flexibility, strength, endurance, balance and lean muscle mass correctly and efficiently, using today’s latest research.

• You’ll learn the truth about diet and nutritional supplements and how to use them to your advantage.

• You’ll get assistance with strategies for permanent, healthier lifestyle changes.

 What you can expect

Participants are always welcome to choose the individual program components that best fit their needs. Our programs are directed by physical therapists with extensive expertise treating the musculoskeletal and cardiopulmonary systems.

Fitness Profile

• Measures strength, flexibility, cardiovascular endurance (including EKG monitoring), lean body mass, pulmonary function and blood chemistries; includes a computerized summery (Microfit R), developed in conjunction with Stanford University

Wellness Profile

• Analyzes lifestyle behaviors known to affect overall health

• Provides specific recommendations designed to reduce disease risk (Microfit)

Personalized Exercise Plan-Based on Profiles

• Receive a customized plan to follow Medically Supervised Exercise Training

• Uses a wide variety of training methods and devices to increase lean body mass and enhance flexibility, strength, balance and cardiovascular endurance. (EKG monitoring available)

• Includes recommendations for continuing your program at home, in a gym or with a personal trainer

Specialized Services

• Practical Nutritional Consultation including menu and recipe planning

• Training in stress management techniques

• Instruction in Yoga, Meditation and Tai Chi

How you can begin

Individuals come to the Human Performance Center in a variety of ways. You or a family member can contact us and set up an appointment. Or your physician or other health care provider can refer you. In either case, we coordinate our care with your personal physician or other care provider. In order to bill your insurance company, we’ll need a medical diagnosis.
