Every athlete, from the recreational “weekend-warrior” or fitness walker to the elite Olympic competitor, hates being slowed down by an injury. Their first question is often, “When can I return to action?” At the Human Performance Center, we’ve helped every level of athlete, including high school, collegiate and those mentioned above regain and often exceed their previous performance levels. Whether you have bumps and bruises from last Saturday’s softball game or are recovering from reconstructive joint surgery, we’re here to help get you back into action as quickly as possible. Our entire therapy staff are active athletically and have years of experience treating clients at every level of sports.

• Our staff will quickly pinpoint your problem and recommend a plan of treatment that’s just right for your athletic level.
• Our staff often acts as a screening center, much like a college training room, where your injury is either treated immediately or referred to a physician who specializes in sports medicine. • Treatment is always designed to quickly alleviate your symptoms and regain motion, strength and mobility. • However, symptom relief is only the beginning. You’ll learn what caused your original problem and how to prevent future symptoms or limitations. • If you’d like, we’ll teach you how to modify your training plan to reach even higher goals.
• After a thorough examination, our specialists will help you begin a sport-specific treatment program that’s usually designed to improve or regain flexibility, strength, power, endurance, balance and/or agility. • You’ll also be given recommendations for modifying your current training to optimize performance. • We’ll use a combination of hands-on techniques and highly specialized exercise equipment to help speed your recovery. • Of course, you’ll become an active partner in your recovery and training, utilizing specific exercises and biomechanical principles at home and/or during your sports activity. • You can even take advantage of our nutritional counseling and planning that is custom-fitted to your needs.
Individuals come to the Human Performance Center in a variety of ways. You or a family member can contact us and set up an appointment. Or your physician or other health care provider can refer you. In either case, we coordinate our care with your personal physician or other care provider. In order to bill your insurance company, we’ll need a medical diagnosis.
