Regaining function & more independence…
It’s within your control!
Anyone who has had an injury or illness that affects their neurological system and has experienced lingering symptoms or reduced physical abilities can often benefit from Outpatient Neurological Rehabilitation. If you or a family member have been given a diagnosis from the following list, rehabilitation of this type is often very helpful: Stroke (Cerebrovascular Accident), Parkinsonism, Multiple Sclerosis, ALS, Neurologic Neoplasms, Metabolic Encephalopathy, or Polio.
There are many other conditions that can benefit from treatment as well. Programs are always designed for each client’s specific needs.
How we can help…
Reduce symptoms; regain function
  • You can improve your ability to care for yourself and better manage life, both at home and in the community.
  • Treatment can help you and your family feel more safe and secure as you move about.
  • You can improve, strength, mobility, flexibility, balance and coordination.
  • Because family members are often involved in the treatment program, they become partners in the recovery process—an essential key to its success

You'll be in the hands of experts
  • Neurologic Rehabilitation often involves a coordinated team of specialists which may include a Physical Therapist, Occupational Therapist, Speech Therapist and Clinical Social Worker. Unlike large Rehab centers, Human Performance Center teams are assembled on a case-by-case basis, utilizing only the professionals needed for your specific situation.
  • Following a careful examination by the appropriate specialist, individualized treatment programs are designed based on your medical condition.
  • Treatment programs often include special function-based exercises, training and counseling designed to help you achieve greater independence.
  • Specially designed adaptive equipment is often provided for your safety and mobility.
  • Treatment can last from two weeks to several months. Improvement can be gradual, although many clients report feeling better very soon after beginning their program.
